other than being easy to put a knock into the chrysler 2.2 or 2.5L they were pretty tough motors
I had a pile of them that I swapped into my daytona and drove the living crap out of them
Even with a knock they seemed to run for ever

Local Moparfest drained the oil and antifreeze out of one and ran it
They sold tickets on time for complete failure
I ran for quite awhile then they floored it because it never stopped as they expected

Id have to say my personal favorite engine was a 3.1 they had in cavaliers in the early 90s.

My friend had one that had the Wynns product warranty chemical in it... Oil pump crapped the bed, and for SIX MONTHS that beast hammered like it had rocks in it on ZERO oil pressure being daily driven... Either than Wynns stuff is liquid magic, or that engine didnt want to give up. It finally bent a pushrod after 6 months.

I also owned a Toyota 4 Runner 1991 that had an OHC V6 in it that I pounded the living **** out of and that engine never lost a stroke.

I would say the weak link if you could call it that with the toyota was the timing chain assembly
Tensioner would eventually loosen up and let the chain eventually saw its way threw the back of the water pump housing
Once threw the housing the antifreeze went in the oil and every thing went to crap from there

i have to vote for the chevy 350. so simplistic to work on, parts all over the place, tons of aftermarket support etc.

my daily driver is a 1990 with a 305ci and 207k on the clock, the thing runs so smooth its quite strange. i always have to check my tech at red lights as it always sounds like it shut off

worst motor is kind of a tough one. ive always hated chrysler car motors as far as working on them. like anything that came in a stratus, concord, intreped, etc

I had a 305 block I bored 30 over and stuck flat tops in along with crainfireball 2 cam which was rad.Took the heads from the small 267 gm made back from 79-81 I believe and had them ported and polished.I slapped and eldabrock performer dual plane manifold along with edabrock 650 carb, all this it together my 81 Camaro with 3.42 gears and it out run most 350`s out there. It was one of the toughest engines I ever built.I tried blowing it up but it wouldn't.It out lasted 3 car bodys and was still going.
