I spent most of the weekend solving the issue of my hitch sticking out too far, flipped the center portion of my hitch and spun the whole thing around so it doesn't stick out so far, it barely comes out beyond the rear frame rail now.

Also hacked up my bumper in preparation for a low mount spare tire holder so I can still access the back thru my rear glass. I've been without a spare since I got the truck.

and spent some time relocating the licence plate too. You can see the hitch barely sticks out in this shot.

Getting closer, second side roughed in. Once I make the tire rack and finallize the mounting I will close in the end caps to flow around the tire. The right side still needs a tweak up in the middle. The plastic step pads will close in the gap below the tailgate.

Finally finished up my spare tire mount so that my rear glass opens without swinging the tire and rack.

I'll fill in the inside edges of the bumpers next year to better match the shape of the tire... might be a 31" tire by then.

Nice. When we built my rear bumper we made sure that the glass would open without having to swing the tire out of the way.

Yeah, with 4 kids I'm always putting stuff in the hatch and didn't want to need to swing the tire carrier out of the way every time. The offset licence plate really stands out too.

Finally got my Xmas present installed, wifey gave me a set of KC Appollo Pro driving lights. I made up a 1-1/2" tube bar mount and welded some nuts under the bumper. Sure lights up the night and gives it a more aggressive look.

And what a mess of a winter we are having so far.
