Default Rear Upper Shock Mount Rotted Out

Has anyone ever had the following happen to their Blazer?
This is the rear upper shock mount on my '02.
I was able to secure the shock on the one remaining side, but this now causes an awful racket from the right rear anytime I go over a bump.

What are my options? Can this upper shock mount be replaced? Or am I going to have to look at getting someone to fabricate a plate and weld it up in there so I can secure both sides of the shock?

if you can find someone good with a welder im sure you can just weld some kinda tab on there to fix that. ive seen lots of stuff rust and break on a s10 but this is a first. sucks cause its in kind of a hard to reach location. would be better if it was a pick up truck then you can take the bed off and get at it a lot easier

I have the same problem. Bought my 2004 4door 4x4 LS Blazer 10 years ago and put a bunch of money in it to make it run right. The guy at the shop did something to fix this problem, though at the time I never got a real good look at it. Since then the old girl has been getting a bit worn around the edges and that fix has worn out and needs to be redone. Engine and tranny still going strong at over 200K so I'm not giving up on her yet. I'm going to guess the DIY here is to grind that hole as clean as you can around the edges and make a template out of cardboard to capture that shape. Transfer that template into a similar gauge steel and put two holes in it where your shock bolts are going to go through it. Weld nuts on the back sides of the holes on that patch to receive the bolts. Weld this patch up into the hole as best you can and mount your shock. Might even need to mount the patch to the shock just to make sure you've got everything aligned just right. IDK. Just an idiot spitballin' ideas here. I recently acquired an old Lincoln Tombstone and I don't know **** about welding. This could be comical.
