so captain hook do you know if the unit is an all in one then for my make ?

also how to remove?

if not no problem.. I'm going to try and take a screw driver to the medal cap that appears to hold it.

Didn't realize yours was 03-05. That is the vent solenoid, there should be a metal clip on the bracket, (just like the 02 and older) that must be released to slide the solenoid assembly out. Or you can remove the bracket and all and take it apart when you have the whole thing out. The vapor canister, IIRC, is behind the driver rear tire, inside the quarter panel.

got it boys, the screw by gas tank...loosen it off and the bracket that holds the whole assembly comes down in front of your face.

you then have to take the medal part off the tracks....so just like I was told just different tracks then the pic!!! will post pics soon.

couple observations :

1 - blowing through hole pushes air right out of unit? maybe by design
2 - did an ohm test across solenoid and no resistence came up..

anyway...off to the store to replace.

1) Correct. it allows fuel vapor to travel from the tank to the canister when the engine is off.
2) "no resistance" as in zero ohms? How many ohms does it indicate?

If you apply battery voltage & ground to the terminals on the solenoid, you should hear it "click" and you should not be able to blow through it.

1 - it didn't register anything, not ZERO, not 0.8 , even with the dial set to lowest OHM reading.

2 - I hooked up a lead from positive and negative battery to the solenoid, and no click, no nothing.

Battery has 12.6V across it.

I'm gonna order a new one , appears broken!

will get it on the bench at home and hit it with 12 V battery power before I install and see if it CLOSES THE VENT!

what a joke!!!

decided against hitting new one with twelve volts and just installed it back into car.

tricky getting screw to turn and start back into bracket but did it with closed end clicking wrench!

cleared code, engine light off, will drive tomorrow and see if fixed!

thanks, will keep you posted!
