Chiltons manual says .045 spark plug gap?!?!
I changed my plugs/cap/wires/rotor about a month ago and it just dawned on me the gap specs in the book were .045 across the board under 1998 for the 4.3L. Is this right? The plugs were pre-gapped at .060 and I changed them to .045 according to the book.
I read everywhere on this forum it should be .060, what should I do? are the plugs still new enough that I can re-gap them back to .060?
I'm totally confused what to do now. Thanks!

I show this info for AC/Delco plugs for that year:
0.060 for the Ac Delco 41-932
0.045 for the AC Delco Rapidfires
I'm assuming you are using the Double Platinums, so I would go with .060".

Double platinum? I don't know, I asked for the OEM plugs and I got AcDelco Platinums, which were pre-gapped at .060 but since my book said .045 I set them to that. They've been in there a month, is it too late to re-gap them back to .060? I do have a little rough/choppy idle which remained the same after doing the tune up. Is it really going to make that much of a difference? why would one be .045 and the other .060? Doesn't the engine have a certain specification for the gap it needs? If so I will go through the work again to remove them.
I guess I need to pull the receipt or maybe i still have the spark plug box to get the part number.

Crap! alright, good thing I got that built-in swivel spark plug socket, saves a whole lot of headache, I can get them all done with pulling the wheels off in 30 mins.

.60" is correct and you should have a label under the hood on the rad support with that info.

I have heard alot about pulling wheels to do plugs,But if you just jack it up so the wheels are off the ground or less you can still get to the plugs easy enough
