Default GM VSS-350 Security

I have a new Vehicle Security System that has this on the label:
Bar code
#12344679
GR. 21.513 Made In USA

VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM VSS-350

This is a new unit with all the wiring along with the Main Unit, Shock Sensor, Siren, and two Remote Transmitters.
It has the usual functions as well as remote start, start interrupt, panic mode, trunk release, service/valet switch, emergency overide,
blah blah blah.
I want to install it into my 2000 LT and want to know if anyone if familar with this particular unit by any chance. How doens't matter, just
if you know if it will work (compatible) in the 2000 and if it is a quality unit or not.
I want to try to install myself but it looks like it just might "behoove" me to have it done.
At any rate, before either, I would like to see if I can hear any pros or cons on it before I
do it..[sm=signs007.gif][sm=signs006.gif][sm=smiley5.gif]

TIA
