Default 4WD switch has no power

Hey everyone, first things first, I have a 2000 with the 3 button switch. I recently took out the dash to replace the heater core (NEVER AGAIN). And now that the snow is here, I noticed the 2HI light is not on, and pressing the buttons to switch into 4wd does nothing (no sounds like before last time I used it, so I can tell its doing nothing).
I'm thinking that I missed connecting the wire for it back up and that's the first thing I want to check. Does anyone know where exactly the connection is?

When putting the dash back together I did notice there was one loose connector on the driver side, its one of the square kind with the clips (about 4-6 wires) and I can't see any place to plug it in (its NOT the code reader one down under the ebrake) and on the passenger side there is another one, I think it only had an orange and black wire in it, it's thin.
I checked all the vacuum lines and none were pinched under the passenger side and they all look nice an new. Also unplugged that bastard TCCM thing an checked for corrosion and put it back...nothing.

I'm not 100% sure but I THINK that the switch lit up fine before I changed the heater core, so I'm guessing its just one of these two harnesses I missed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys (an gals) thanks!

Have you popped switch outta the dash and checked if its connected? Just saying start simple.
If you look in the the tech diy section under 4x section there are wire diagrams there....happy hunting

Haha yea, that's the first thing I did. I haven't tried disconnecting and reconnecting them though...any idea where that connector tracks back to for power?
I just found those wiring diagrams right now and have been runnin in an out of the house to see what's what. I wish they had matching pics for each cause I'm useless.

Goin to post some pics soon as my phone syncs.

Ok, here's some pics, you can see in the first one there's a port that's open, I can't find what plugs into it and in the other pic you can see the wire that I can't find the port for. This is under driver side steering column.

Any ideas?

Solved: was 10A fuse for the courtesy lights...stupid. Now it just won't go into 4hi.

Default Just my .02

I got stuck in the woods and had to winch myself around because the stupidly designed vacuum 4Whl actuator was disconnected from the cable. The design of the system is the definition of lame. There is a mechanical fix somewhere on this site. I did it probably a year ago and printed it out, prolly got it in the garage. If I can find it, I'll list the link, but look for it.
